Which Do You Think Is More Taboo, A Same Sex Gay Interracial Couple Or A Cougar/Young Man Couple? Which do you think would draw more stares from people, a Black man french kissing a Korean man in public or a woman french kissing a man that looks young enough to be her son. | | neither in this 21st century. A fat man snogging a ginger woman however...... | If nowadays sex orientation means nothing, why there is a seperate category for gay sex, but nor interracial? I mean, interracial sex is also born with you, it's not a choice. If interracial sex was in a diferent category that would be badly accepted. So why gay sex is in a different category here? Shouldn't it be just under sex? | if you meant sexUAL orientation... sexual orientation does mean something. it's what gender or genders you are attracted to considering you're own gender. and uh, exactly WHAT gay sex category are you talking about? there isn't any sex categories here anyway, so that's no straight-sex category, no gay-sex cateogory, no interacial-sex category here. besides, too many prudes around here to even have any-sex category here.
and let'S say they wasn't any prudes here, what is it that would make an interracial-sex category "badly accepted" anyway? why don't you write to yahoo and ask for one? i'd support it, why not?

i don't know what this poster person was saying but, that was bull. you don't CHOOSE what you like. trust me, i didn't CHOOSE to like sardines, they smell, but that don't stop me from liking them and wanting to buy some and shove them down my throat.... it's like, you know? you don't choose to be attracted to the same or opposite sex, nor you don't choose to be attracted to whites or blacks or whatever.
added again:
ah man, people can be weird. it's like some people can never understand that being judgemental and hateful can destroy a society. like, WHAT does it matter if a certain person of a certain race like another person from a different race? ESPECIALLY when the relationship doesn't involve you. (not you personally i mean, but you know).
i just saw a clip of the view yesterday, it was at the time of the proposition 8 thing, and whoopi goldberg was like, she understood why gay-marriage should be legal but couldn't quite understand the gay-education. she was like, "we don't get straight education in school so why should we have gay education" (which i can argue against THAT in so many ways)... but it's like, no offence but, she's black, and there's black history month... it took awhile for black history month to settle in, it was a fight, and this was another fight with the same reasons.... i just don't get some really. and i support black history month even though i'm white and that i'm aware that there is no "white histroy month" per se you know? | How is interracial marriage and same sex marriage the same? Marrying a member of the same gender is not the same as marrying a person of a different race because race and gender are not parallel, they’re not the same and here’s why. There is no difference between a white human and a black human’s psyche, but there are immense differences between a man and a woman’s psyche. Men and women are equal but not the same. If you are attracted to men and not women (regardless of your gender) you notice that men and women are not the same too, if you are attracted to women and not men (regardless of your gender) you notice that men and women are not the same also.
A lot of these traditional marriage beliefs also have to do with guyren. People who are against same-sex marriage, believe guyren should think when they grow up they will get married, they should not have to think, am I going to marry a boy or a girl? Guyren today face enough sexual confusion without adding that.
When it comes to raising guyren, most people who are pro traditional marriage believe that two men can not replace 1 good mother’s role in a (boy or girl) guy’s development, and believe two women can not replace 1 good father’s role in a (boy or girl) guy’s development. I don’t think two men could replace my mother and give me the things my mother gave me, and I don’t think two women could replace my father and give me the things my father gave me, and that’s how most of the people who are against gay marriage feel. Thinking men and women both have different, but equally important qualities, is legit.
The argument is some homosexuals believe in same sex marriage, since gays are discriminated against they feel we should redefine marriage, because they feel it is their civil right to have their relationships honored in the law, they use Loving vs. Virginia (the 1967 supreme court case where interracial marriage was legalized) as a point of reference, and they feel not giving it to them is a violation of their civil rights, but the same argument could be said for Muslims and polygamy.
Some Muslims believe in polygamy, since Muslims are discriminated against should we redefine marriage to where polygamy is legal for consenting adults, because they feel it is their civil right to have their relationships honored in the law, they use Loving vs. Virginia as a point of reference, and they feel not giving it to them is a violation of their civil rights? When people use the separate but equal Loving vs. Virgina case, as an argument to pervert the definition of marriage of man and wife, to man and man or woman and woman, what’s to stop people from using the same argument to deviate further to man, woman and woman or woman, man and man?
The legitimacy of the arguments heterosexuals and homosexuals, have against polygamy in consenting adults, are equivalent to the legitimacy of arguments heterosexuals who are against same sex marriage have. Heterosexuals who are against same sex marriage can be labeled hateful bigots, and as having an irrational fear of homosexuals (homophobic) and by the same logic, the same way, homosexuals and heterosexuals who do not support polygamy can be labeled hateful bigots, and as having an irrational fear of polygamists, the labels in both cases are equivalent in their validity or lack thereof.
There was a church in California covered on CNN that gay protesters were going after because they would not marry 2 homosexuals, a couple months before prop 8 passed. People that are against same sex marriage recognize that if gay marriage is legalized in the United States nationwide, Church’s will be legally required to marry gay couples or they can be sued, loose their licenses and loose their tax exempt status. Teacher’s who teach Human development will be legally required to include gay sex in their curriculum, even if they don’t believe in it, or they’ll loose their job, both instances would be reprehensible. People say same sex marriage is none of straight people’s business, but both of those cases are very much the business of heterosexuals.
For those of you who want to just resort to name calling and personal insults, (because I present a respectful, civil, and legitimate argument) without articulating a response, just leave your stupid comment and move on. | People use the same arguments against interracial marriage that were used 50 years ago. (God didn't intend the races to mix... to be short... the argument was)
No church has been forced to marry homosexuals. You can get a license in court. The issue was that they denied business for a commitment ceremony, not a marriage.
If you bring up the argument of guyren... you are might as well ban having guyren outside of marriage, because you're saying the exact same thing.
The real thing is that the issue of gay-marriage is like the issue of interracial marriage. No one who is against interracial marriage was alright with the relationship, let alone the marriage. You're against the relationship itself, that's your problem and why you are a bigot.
You might as well make being gay illegal... which you can't do, since sex of any type between two consenting adults is their own business.
If you don't support gay marriage, don't marry someone who is gay. If you're neighbors were gay, how would it make any difference to you if they were married or not.
EDIT:
You're the one who brought up the issue of guy-raising. With saying...
"I don’t think two men could replace my mother ..."
My whole point is, you are talking about the issues of a mother and father. When it's not a requirement to have both, much less many people don't.
"because It hasn't been legalized nationwide yet"
You were talking about a commitment ceremony, which all they wanted to do was lease the land their church owned, which they do to hetero couples as well, the problem was they broke a law by denying them because they were gay. A Catholic church can refuse to marry someone of a different belief, no one is forcing ANY church to marry anyone.
"Your putting words in my mouth just the way you put artificial facts in your head"
You can't tell me it's okay for people to be gay and you simply don't want them to be married. You'd be lying if you don't approve of their relationship.
"Once again I did not suggest that you did"
And you could actually share what you think there instead of saying that's not what you suggested, though whether two people are married or not doesn't change how you live your life.
"and you are using the same argument muslims who believe in poligamy can use, I notice you ignore most of the post that refutes your Loving vs. Virginia argument"
Loving v. Virginia was deemed unconstitutional due to restriction on race. My point is that your religion does not make the laws of a secular nation. Just because your god doesn't approve of something, doesn't mean you're going to impede on the rights of others. That's exactly why slavery existed. It was okay, because we never gave them rights in the first place.
The rights of a minority should never be voted on by the majority.
"Fine, call it civil unions and not marriage, my marriage is between a man and a woman, and they are trying to pervert that"
Separate is not equal, we already know that. The real problem is that we are a secular nation, not a theocracy. Your religion doesn't make our laws. That's what you're talking about when you say perversion. Maybe you just don't want to drink from the same water fountain as gays, so you rather give them a separate water fountain.
"Christians are not considered minorities but Muslims are considered minorities, And once again you ignore how I pointed out that race and gender are not the same"
Race and gender are not the same, but sexism and racism are both bigotry. Christians are the majority by numbers, but as I said, the majority doesn't get to make whatever laws they please to enforce on everyone else.
"So are boy scouts and girls scouts separate but equal as well? When I say pervert, I mean the dictionary definition of “to lead astray”"
So suddenly your marriage is not special to you anymore because gays can marry too? And no, boy scouts and girl scouts are not equal, boy scouts don't allow gays and atheists into their organization.
"That’s laughable, considering I never said that, and what would you know about drinking from a separate fountain?"
Just seems to me you think if you're sharing something with people who you deem as less than yourself somehow ruins it for you.
I still bet you can't honestly say it's okay for someone to be gay, just not okay for them to marry. | Interracial gay/lesbian couples? How does everyone feel about interracial gay couples?
I saw a white guy and a black guy holding hands together in time square once and everyone was starring at them like a UFO just landed or something. I thought it was nice to see.
Would you ever have a gay/lesbian relationship with a member outside your race?
Do you fantasize about interracial sex?
how common are these types of relationships?
If you were involved in a interracial gay/lesbian relationship how would you break the news to your parents? Some parents may already be intolerant with their guy being gay/lesbian and introducing someone that to them that is outside your race may further create more tension. | Well considering finding a lesbian Indian girl in the tri state area is pretty tough, I would say that I have no problem with interracial relationships especially because its all I have ever known ;)
I think any love between 2 people is beautiful, no matter what gender or color. | Does AIds come from gay sex relationships? Like gays that have sex does aids come from that?
cause someone said that Aids in the black community is high because black men feel they have to live up to a certain standard so instead of "coming out of the closet" like alot of white men they keep on the "down low" and continue to raise a family with guys and never tell there wife. They sneak around with dudes instead of telling the truth that they are gay.
Maybe we as black americans need to wake up and learn that gays should have the same privilage as straights.. that hating gays is just as bad as hating interracial couples and blacks. | | gays do spread aids ,,, as do straights who dont use condoms | How can anyone in their right mind equate gay marriage with interracial marriage? The movement to legalize interracial marriage didn't involve changing the definition of marriage. Marriage was always defined as a man and a woman and to not allow interracial couples to marry was to unfairly deprive them of a privilege for which they met the requirements. The movement to legalize gay marriage however, is a radical imposition that involves CHANGING the definition of marriage in a dramatic manner that's never been done before. Here's an analogy. Membership in the army has many requirements, such as good health and fitness. The movement to legalize interracial marriage is analogous to a fit and healthy man rightfully demanding to be allowed to serve in the army after being unfairly excluded from it for a reason that was irrelevant to the requirements for military service. The movement to legalize gay marriage is analogous to an obese man demanding that the requirements for army membership be changed to allow him and his fellow obese Americans the "right" to serve in the military. Get the distinction? Additionally, there's a difference between sex and race. Interracial and uniracial marriage are equal because people of different races are inherently the same. But, homosexual marriage is NOT equal to heterosexual marriage because men and women are inherently different. Therefore, because of the inherent differences between the sexes, men and women form a different union when they come together than men and men or women and women do. People of different races are interchangeable, but people of different sexes are NOT interchangeable. Unlike the gay marriage issue, the illegalization of interracial marriage was NOT about protecting the sanctity of marriage. It was about protecting the "sanctity" of the white race. | Marriage has NOT always been defined as between one man and one woman....it was OFTEN defined as between men and guy brides in your religious texts as well as in the ancient law you are trying to adhere to to make your claims. Marriage as it was originally defined, was about property rights, NOT love or commitment. YOU have changed the definition of marriage....why are YOU discriminating of others for wanting to do the same....for wanting to commit to a loving, life long relationship with one person.
"Marriage in ancient Christianity was not like a modern wedding. This marriage was to merely pass the girl on to a different 'owner'. In fact, Bonnard (128) states that:
"A minor from the day of her birth to the day of her death, a woman only changed from one guardian to another when she married" (128).
Bonnard, André. Civilization. Vol. 1. New York: Macmillan, 1962. | Why do some people compare same-sex "marriage" to interracial marriage? Do most African-Americans see civil rights as the same as gay rights? I don't. | | They don't examine the validity of their argument, they are just hoping that by invoking race, they can shut up the opposition. | Religiously speaking, why the double standard? "I find interracial sex disgusting" is no longer an acceptable argument against interracial marriage, but why is "I find gay sex disgusting" still an acceptable argument against gay marriage?
I can understand religious arguments, although I don't agree with them. But in gay rights debates here I often see people using the "I find gays disgusting" argument - then rather disturbingly, getting thumbed up for it. | It's not an acceptable argument. Anyone who uses their brain for anything more advanced than Family Guy realizes that banning gay marriage will NOT reduce the frequency of homosexual sex.
People who want to ban gay marriage *have* to have more intelligent reasons for doing so that you presume.
Straw Man Argument.
Jim, www.bible-reviews.com | Why are there almost no gay or interracial couples in advertisements? I was just thinking about how I never see those kinds of couples in commercials or in other ads. Sure, I've seen some interracial ones but I don't think I've ever seen a multi-racial family.. and I definitely have not seen a same-sex relationship or family in a commercial. I just think it's embarassing how we live in a country that promotes equality and freedom when we can't even have a realistic depiction of American families in our advertisements.
The only tasteful commercial I could find that represents a gay couple in a nice light was this one: www.youtube.com/watch?v=uuRLK3bgn...
The sad part is that that commercial was made in 1997 in Australia.. 12 years ago and not in the United States.
Anyone else frustrated by this? I know that if I ever saw a commercial depicting a gay or interracial couple, I definitely would pay closer attention that I would if it had a boring straight, white couple. | Its business, not prejudice.
People advertising things are trying to appeal to the largest majority of consumers so they can sell the most product, therefore, they're not going appeal specifically to minority groups.
Its like saying not casting a guy in a tampon commercial is sexist, when infact its just appropriate.
While there are undeniable obstacles homosexuals and people from ethnic backgrounds face, they also have to face the reality that they do not set the trend in society, that they are infact a minority, and that the white, heterosexual western world isnt about to pick up the rainbow flag and start flying it in their honour any time, wether they like it or not, because they're the majority.
I'm not being prejudice, its pure mathematics.
And I'm from Australia, where while we may have had a gay freindly ad once upon a time, sadly gay marriage still remains illegal through out Australia, where as my understanding is there are a few US states that do allow it, and if not Canada's only a stones throw away.
We're not that liberal down here I'm afraid =/ | Why are people against gay marriage, and Interracial marriage? So if a man and a woman love each other they get married. Say the Man is black the woman is white, now it's wrong. Why? what's wrong with interracial marriage? Two people are in love, they can't help it, it's what is on the inside. Or let's change it two men are in love, suddenly thats wrong? Two people are in love and they get married it is the same story every time. Why does it matter what sex they are. How can you tell someone they can't love something, because it's wrong. Why are so many people against it. Even my parents want me to marry a white man (i am a 15 year old girl), when i get older, they are for gay marriage though. But my grandparents would hate if i married a non white person or if i were gay. Why are people so intolerant of these things? | | How could someone be for gay marriage and not interracial marriage. Your parents are weird. |
